Curbo Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Welcome to Curbo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Curbo mobile app (the "App"), operated by Florian Muller (ABN 74379186985), a sole trader based in Australia ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Curbo.

1. What Curbo is

Curbo is a platform that lets people give away items they no longer need, for free, to others nearby, and lets people find and collect free items near them. Curbo is not a marketplace — items listed on Curbo must be given away for free. Charging money, bartering, or requesting payment "under the table" for an item listed on Curbo is not allowed.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Curbo account. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

4. Posting items and using the App

When you post a listing, you confirm that you have the right to give away the item, the item is legal to give away, the description and photos are accurate, and the item is genuinely free — no payment, trade, or other compensation may be requested or accepted.

Prohibited items include (without limitation): weapons, illegal drugs or substances, alcohol, live animals, hazardous or recalled materials, counterfeit goods, and anything else illegal to possess or transfer in your jurisdiction.

We may remove any listing, at our discretion, that we believe violates these Terms.

5. Reservations and pickups

When you reserve an item, it is held for you for a limited time (currently 48 hours). If you don't collect it within that window, the hold expires automatically and the item becomes available to others again.

Meeting up is between you and the other user. Curbo does not verify the identity of users beyond basic account creation, and we are not involved in, and are not responsible for, what happens when you meet someone to exchange an item. We recommend meeting in public places when possible, telling someone where you're going, and trusting your judgment.

6. Reviews, reports, and blocking

After a completed exchange, both parties may leave a rating and review of the other. Reviews must be honest and based on your actual experience — we may remove reviews that are abusive, fake, or unrelated to the exchange.

You can report a listing or block another user at any time. We review reports at our discretion and may take action including removing content, restricting, or suspending accounts.

7. Curbo+ (optional paid membership)

Curbo+ is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional convenience features (such as an extended search radius and real-time alerts). Curbo+ does not grant access to items that would otherwise be paid for — all items on Curbo remain free to give and collect, with or without Curbo+. Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store, and are subject to Apple's own terms.

8. Content you post

You keep ownership of any content you post (photos, descriptions, messages). By posting content on Curbo, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute that content as needed to operate the App.

You're responsible for the content you post. Don't post anything that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is abusive, hateful, or harassing.

9. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, at our discretion, if you violate these Terms, if we receive credible reports of unsafe or abusive behaviour, or to protect the safety of our community.

You can stop using Curbo and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting support@curbo.au.

10. Disclaimers

Curbo is provided "as is". We do our best to keep the App running reliably, but we don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or condition of items listed by users, nor for the conduct of any user, on or off the App.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Curbo and Florian Muller will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss arising from an in-person exchange arranged through the App.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know via the App or by email. Continuing to use Curbo after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of New South Wales.
